Kaitlin Diggins is a first-year graduate student in the Department Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology at Cornell University. Her roots originate from Iowa State University, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and Horticulture in 2022. Throughout her degree, she worked as a researcher in multiple departments across campus but spent most of her time in Dr. Mark Gleason's lab in Plant Pathology. She focused on the socio-economic analysis of extension and outreach on the USDA-funded three-year, three-state (Iowa, New York, Kentucky) mesotunnel project, interviewing growers on the efficacy of organic pest control techniques throughout the growing season. Additionally, she has participated in fieldwork for various projects over the course of her time in the Gleason lab. She remains a collaborator at Cornell University, where she will continue to do extension and outreach for the third and final interviews of grower perceptions on mesotunnel technology.
